Elephant grabs B.C. man’s GoPro, snaps adorable ‘elphie’

He posted the photo on the social media, and his Instagram hasn’t been the same since, UPI.com reports. The photo has gone viral and wowed a number of fans.

LeBlanc, 22, shared the photo on Instagram earlier this week, and said the elephant on Thailand’s Koh Phangan Island couldn’t have picked a better time to grab the camera — it was on time lapse mode and continued to snap photos from the end of the pachyderm’s trunk.

He then dubbed the photo an“elphie”—a selfie taken by an elephant, UPI.com reports.

“I couldn’t believe it when I saw how well the photo turned out,” LeBlanc said, per CTV Vancouver.

LeBlanc was feeding the elephant bananas, and when he ran out, the elephant decided to snag the GoPro.

“I couldn’t believe it had happened, let alone taken the snap at the right moment,” he told Metro News.

The popularity of the photo stunned him, but he said it definitely is an incredible image.

“This is definitely hands down my most epic selfie,” he said, adding he hoped to top that by swimming with whale sharks in the Philippines.
