Siblings sent to JDC for refusing relationship with their father

The children, aged 14, 10 and 9, respectively, were ordered into juvenile detention June 24 by Oakland County family court Judge Lisa Gorcyca for refusing her orders to go to lunch with their father following a custody and supervision court hearing.
Judge Gorcyca refused to acknowledge the children’s claims that they did not want to go with their father because of his violent temper, and because the man struck his ex-wife, the children claim. She said the children had been brainwashed, and even compared the kids to the Charles Manson cult.
At a previous hearing, the judge ordered the children to maintain a, “healthy relationship” with their father.
The children’s mother Maya Eibschitz-Tsimhoni was quoted saying: “I felt like I was watching them be executed,” in the moments immediately following the judge’s order to JDC.
Ms. Eibschitz-Tsimhoni has been estranged from her ex-husband, Omer Tsimhoni for about five years. Her attorney in the case has appealed the judge’s order to a higher Oakland County family court, and the case is pending a review.
In the mean time, she’s not allowed any visitation to her children during their confinement in juvenile detention.
