Dead dogs on side of road
The bodies were found on Saturday at the side of Highway 3 near Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, a city about an-hour-and-a-half north of Saskatoon. The bag was found in a ditch and the SPCA does not know how long the dead dogs were there.
There isn’t any indication of who left them. The Prince Albert SPCA officials who were brought the dead dogs by a woman who found them, said the dogs had been badly hurt before their death. Despite that, however, they can’t be certain if a crime was committed.
But it sure looks like it.
“I was quite disgusted and upset and sad for those dogs because we do not know what happened to them,” Meagan Boucher from the Prince Albert SPCA told CTV News. “We don’t know if this is something that was purposely done. Maybe it was an accident, but why would you leave a bag of dead dogs on the side of the highway for everyone to see is my question.”
The SPCA in Prince Albert say they will try and find out who left the two dead dogs in a bag on the side of the highway.
Sarah Palin: son stands on dog
Another story of potential dog abuse occurred over the weekend, though this minor by comparison, but still one that rankled animal and dog lovers. The former governor of Alaska and Republican V.P. running mate of Sen. John McCain, Sarah Palin, posted three photos of her six-year-old son, Trig, standing on their family dog.
Palin has drawn condemnation on both sides of the political spectrum from dog lovers who say the weight of the boy could easily have hurt and harmed their dog. When she posted the photos of her son on the dog, she also posted a message saying she was proud of him for finding a way around the problem of not being able to reach the counter.
The Prince Albert SPCA said they will try and find out who left the dead dogs in a bag by the highway.
