-

Nine people were wounded on Sunday in an explosion when a rocket hit a military bus in the Mazzeh residential district of western Damascus, Syria's official SANA news agency reported.

"Nine people were wounded by a rocket fired by terrorists at a bus on the road from Mazzeh into Damascus," the agency said.

SANA said earlier the blast was caused by a bomb, with reports of 10 people wounded.

An AFP journalist saw blood on the floor of the vehicle, which had had its windows blown out.
