The parents of the baby are Lalitamma and Chennabasava, and Lalitamma said her son was a gift from God. She said she was hesitant about taking him to another hospital to receive further treatment.
Lalitamma sought advice from her family and she decided to take her son to a specialist facility in Ballari. The infant will be kept under observation.
Doctor Divakar Gaddi is heading the child’s case. He said a team of surgeons are taking a look into the baby’s condition before they decide what to do. He described the case as being a challenge.
Not The First Case Of This Kind
A few weeks ago, parents gave birth to their sixth child who was born with an extra pair of legs. The child was also born with male and female genitals.
The child is considered healthy and was born at a hospital in Poshina. Doctors believed the condition was a case of parasitic twins and they said the extra legs can be removed. The doctors also said the genitals can be corrected with re-constructed surgery. As of now, the parents have not decided if they want their child to undergo surgery.
