The man, who was only identified as Mr. Li, went to a hospital in Dongguan because he wanted to get to the bottom of his earache. It turned out that there was an adult cockroach inside his ear and it had given birth to 25 babies.
Mr. Li, 19, had an itchy right ear and it hurt, and this ended up waking him up in the middle of the night. The following day he went to the hospital.
At the time the babies hatched, they were only the size of small mosquitoes, and they may have been living inside his ear for weeks before doctors extracted them from his ear.
One doctor said that when Li’s ear was looked at, they saw an insect-shaped object, which was completely blocking his ear canal.
According to doctors, if Li did not make it to the hospital in time, then his ear would have been destroyed.
