18 photos from inside Hurricane Isaac’s destructive path

Since making landfall last night, Hurricane Isaac has left 725,000 without power in five U.S. states. CNN reports Hurricane Isaac’s steady, rainy march through Louisiana “is expected to cause as much as $1.5 billion in insured losses, according to one disaster modeling firm.”

New evacuations were ordered Wednesday as Isaac made one levee outside New Orleans overtop and threatened others, NBC News reports.

“We will be dealing with this storm through early Friday,” Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal said, adding that Isaac’s eye wouldn’t reach Baton Rouge until Wednesday evening.

Rick Knabb, director of the National Hurricane Center said the storm’s large size meant it was “not going to fall apart real quick.”

Below are some of the most revealing photos of Isaac’s havoc in many U.S. states such as Louisiana, Mississippi and some from Florida.
