12-year-old girls allegedly stab classmate to please Slender Man

On May 31st, 2014, two young girls allegedly stabbed one of their classmates nineteen times and left her for dead in the woods. According to reports, suspects Anissa Weier and Morgan Geyser (who are now 13 years old but were both 12 at the time of the stabbing) told their classmate Peyton Lautner that they wanted to go bird watching while they were on the school bus that afternoon. The suspects then lured Lautner into the woods where they supposedly stabbed her repeatedly and left her for dead. Fortunately, Lautner survived after making her way to the highway and flagging down a passing bicyclist.

The stabbing may have occurred last year but the trial is still ongoing and some chilling new footage provides some insight on the girls’ motives. According to the suspects, they stabbed their classmate in order to please the fictional character Slender Man, who they say was planning to kill their family members and loved ones if they didn’t kill the victim. One of the girls even claimed that she was excited to stab her classmate because she thought it would prove Slender Man’s existence. “I was excited because I wanted proof that he existed because there were a bunch of skeptics out there saying he didn’t exist,” she said.

After the stabbing, the girls say they told Lautner they were going to find help but they were actually planning on leaving her for dead. In fact, they say that when they were found walking along the highway later that evening, they were on their way to find Slender Man.

Morgan claims that she often sees Slender Man in her dreams and described him as having “tendrils that are very sharp.” Anissa even claims that she saw Slender Man appear after Morgan stabbed Peyton.

The suspects are being tried in adult court and face up to 65 years in prison on charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide.

This is not the first time that mythical creatures have been the subject of a criminal court case. Earlier this year, Paul Carroll allegedly cut up his dog into tiny pieces and stuffed it down a drain after he claimed it became possessed by demonic spirits during a Ouija Board session.
