100,000 rally in Ukraine defying anti-protest law

-

About 100,000 Ukrainian protesters massed in central Kiev on Sunday in defiance of controversial new curbs on rallies pushed through by supporters of President Viktor Yanukovych.

Many protesters wore pots on their heads and others sported masks in an apparent move by the opposition movement to deride the new legislation, which forbids protesters from covering their faces, among other restrictions.
