Yahoo! Offers Alternatives To Traditional Corporate Conferences

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Yahoo! announced new initiatives to help companies communicate with customers, employees, and business partners. New Internet broadcasting packages delivered through Yahoo!’s business communications division, Yahoo! Broadcast Services (business.broadcast.com), offer alternatives to traditional corporate conferences, sales meetings, and trade shows.

With travel and meeting costs rising and recent travel restrictions causing executives and conference organizers to cancel previously scheduled meetings, Yahoo! has developed solutions that can be rapidly deployed, are less costly, and have proven very effective as an alternative to conventional large-scale meetings.

“Speaking with one voice to hundreds, or thousands, of internal and external contacts is an essential part of strategic business communications,” said Jim Fanella, senior vice president of Yahoo!’s Business and Enterprise Services division. “Yahoo!’s solutions will allow companies to continue vital communications that were centered around large scale meetings and maintain critical and focused outreach to customers, sales forces, and business partners.”

Two immediately available packages are the Virtual Conference and an Executive Communications Center.

Virtual Conference

The Virtual Conference product addresses a variety of meeting needs. Unlike a traditional conference, numerous subject tracks can be made available for live or on demand viewing and can be accessed by thousands of individuals at numerous global locations.

The Virtual Conference combines:

  • Audio, video, informational slides synched to presentations,
and a browser to view other meetings associated with the same
    conference
  • Interactive tools — Polling, Question and Answer, Document
    Sharing, and Audience Survey
  • Registration, live attendance tracking, and post event
    reporting on attendees
  • Archiving and Hosting
  • Pay-per-view (if applicable)

Executive Communication Center — Breaking News Channel

Given heightened demand in Global 2000 corporations for rapid internal communication, the Executive Communication Center is specifically tailored to deliver high-level information during times of breaking news that will affect a company or its business.

The product serves as an immediate communications channel to allow rapid global distribution of critical corporate information to internal audiences. Yahoo! Broadcast Services personnel will be available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to acquire and distribute corporate broadcasts within four hours of receipt.
