Woman, Five Children Die In Central Florida House Fire

ST. CLOUD, Fla. – Fire swept through a central Florida home of three families early today, killing a woman and five children, Osceola County officials said.

The ages of the children ranged from infancy to 6 or 7, the officials said.

The relation between the dead woman and the children wasn’t immediately known. The household was headed by three mothers, two of whom were at work when the fire started at about 2 a.m., officials said.

The two-story home is in downtown St. Cloud, which is about 15 miles south of Orlando.

Fire investigators were gathering additional details at the scene.
