Watch Bugatti Veyron hit 378 Km/h

A Bugatti Veyron was captured on video at an annual rally in North America reaching a top speed of 378 Km/h 235.7 mph.

The Grand Sport Vitesse L’Or Rouge was being driven at the The Sun Valley Road Rally, a weekend event staged in Idaho.

Between 8 am to 3 pm local traffic is diverted another route, and 3.2 miles of public road is closed allowing drivers to hit top speeds on the straight.

Car enthusiasts and sightseers can picnic while they watch qualified drivers put high performance super cars to the test, set against a backdrop of the spectacular Sawtooth Mountains.

The video puts into perspective just how powerful the Bugatti Veyron is, as it sears through the air with a force and momentum that resembles a jet more than a car (jump to 1:24 seconds).

All the specifications and technical details in the world cannot convey what it is like to see the car actually in action.

The speeds the Veyron can hit are 40 Km/h faster than the top speed recorded in Formula 1 testing this year – Valtteri Bottas’ 337.5 Km/h in Williams.

The Sun Valley Road event also includes a cruise of more than 100 cars – Bugattis Ferraris, Porsches – which follows a scenic 5 mile route, and concludes with an automotive pageant as crowds vote for the most impressive cars.
