U.S. Postal Service Unveils ”United We Stand” Stamp

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Postal Service unveiled in Washington, D.C. a 34 cent “United We Stand” stamp with a new image of the U.S. flag.

Postmaster General John Potter says the stamp is a symbol of freedom and is meant to send a message of unity and resolve with every letter that carries it.

Mr. Potter said the agency was besieged with calls for a new patriotic stamp following the September 11 terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

The first-class stamp will be available at all post offices as early as November.
