SAN JOSE, Calif. – Sage, Inc. (Nasdaq: SAGI) a leading supplier of Digital
Display Processors, announced today that Sony has selected Sage’s Cheetah4
in its DVI Flat Panel Monitor (FPM). Sony has selected the highly successful
Cheetah4 for its VAIO R and VAIO MX series PCs targeted at the consumer
market. Both of these PCs will ship with the 15″ XGA DVI flat panel monitor
(model: PCVA-R73KL5) that integrates the Cheetah4. With this announcement
Cheetah4 continues to be the largest shipping digital display processor for
the mainstream XGA FPM market.
The Cheetah4 is Sage’s digital display processor optimized for digital
(DVI/DFP/P&D) interfaces, offering true Plug ‘N Play capability. This
feature rich Digital Display Processor offers true multisyncing, gamma
correction, on screen display engine (OSD), and high quality scaling
functions in a cost effective, easy to implement solution. The Cheetah4 also
provides a glue-less interface to a TMDS(TM) receiver, which is required for
a DVI or DFP based FPM.

The DVI specification was established by the DDWG to define a standard
digital video interface. The DDWG is an open industry group spearheaded by
