NOMAD Jukebox On Display At The London Design Museum

MILPITAS, Calif. – Creative Technology Ltd., well known provider of Personal Digital Entertainment (PDE) Solutions, is showcasing the Creative NOMAD Jukebox amongst the world’s latest contemporary and conceptually dynamic designs and products in the internationally renowned Design Museum in London.

The Creative NOMAD Jukebox is a state-of-the-art portable digital audio player with a sleek design that can store an entire music collection of about 150 CDs. The Creative NOMAD Jukebox will be on display in the New Design and Technology exhibit at the Design Museum in Butlers Wharf, London SE1 until
September 24, 2000.

The Design Museum contains a formal exhibition arena dedicated to
“cutting-edge” products, which illustrate innovative developments in style, technology and manufacturing processes. “The Creative NOMAD Jukebox was selected for the Design Museum exhibition which showcases New Design and
Technology of the 21st Century,” said Lucy Everett, curator assistant at the Design Museum.

“Like the Walkman in the 1980’s, the Creative NOMAD Jukebox
marks a significant development in the music listening revolution and offers a tempting glimpse into the future.”

The exhibition demonstrates the development of the Creative NOMAD Jukebox as it is followed along the journey from concept to present-day reality. This also includes: design sketches, showing how early units evolved, the ergonomics of the design and overview of the MP3 scene and the digital music revolution.

Duncan Jackson, UK country manager for Creative, comments, “This is the first time Creative has ever been featured at the Design Museum and we are justifiably proud of our achievement. The criteria for inclusion is strict but the selection panel was shown that the Creative NOMAD Jukebox has innovation and is a style icon of the new millennium. A worthy exhibit by a
company which continues to lead the way in Personal Digital Entertainment.”

The Creative NOMAD Jukebox can hold over 100 hours of CD quality music, the equivalent of about 150 CD albums, or up to 2,600 hours of spoken word with its 6GB of built-in storage. This lightweight (14oz) digital audio device is the size of a portable CD player and enables you to categorize your music by artist, album, song and genre.

Users can also personalize their digital audio listening experience using Creative’s EAX(TM) audio technology. One of its features, EAX Environmental Effects, allows users to interactively
enrich their listening experience and recreate almost any real or imaginary
acoustical setting, from a concert hall, to an intimate jazz club. Another
feature, Adjustable Playback Speed, allows the implementation for voice or
music for optimized playback.

The Creative NOMAD Jukebox is available now through retailers and e-tailers in the U.S. for $499.99.
