There are strong indications that Apple will unveil a new iPhone on September 9th.
The information was published by Buzzfeed’s John Paczkowski who in the past has proved to be an attested source and reliable conduit for news on Apple announcements.
The highly staged format of the Apple “special event” which has become familiar over the last decade is expected to take place in the week of September 7.
Buzzfeed News has tipped September 9 as the most probable date, considering that Apple held its annual event on the same date last year.
Technology buffs anticipate that the new iPhone will feature a new Force Touch display, a further iteration of the technology showcased in the touch pad for the most recent Mac book Pro, an upgraded camera, and faster more energy efficient wireless chip.
The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are Apple’s best selling devices ever with over 100 million units sold in less than a year.
It’s also believed Apple will showcase a revamped Apple TV service, which in contrast has been of the least popular Apple products to date.
Also possible, but predicted with less assurance, is the announcement of new iPads — in particular a 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
Although this would mean a departure from Apple’s traditional strategy of holding separate events for its smartphones and tablets, the latter normally being revealed in October.
