Little Napster Turns the net Inside Out

The June 5 issue of Newsweek (on newsstands Monday, May 29, 2000) looks at
“The War Over Napster.” Napster has forever changed the concept of music
distribution and perhaps signaled the end of the music industry as we know
it. Napster is currently entrenched in a battle against the RIAA and
universities across the country.

“Metallica, the heavy metal band, has begun to use the power of its
celebrity to try and discredit Napster, the internet service that enables
users to swap songs online. In my opinion Napster is here to stay. I like it
and I will support them all the way,” wrote Mike in our Digital Forum.
