EDMONTON, Alberta — Canadian Alliance MP Deb Grey, the champion of the party’s grass roots, says she will not be governed by how members of her riding feel about Stockwell Day’s leadership.
Grey said she doesn’t even plan to attend the meeting Thursday night, where rank and file members of her Edmonton North riding will vote on whether the party should hold an early convention, including a leadership review.
“I would be a fool to be governed by one meeting,” the stalwart Alliance and former Reform MP said in an interview. “It would be foolhardy to say just what the members think.
“You have to go to the coffee shops. You just have to get the widest variety of what people’s viewpoints are.”
Grey heard some of those viewpoints firsthand at a town hall meeting in her riding Tuesday might.
