Galileo Re-enforces Security With Tivoli Software

ROSEMONT, Ill. and AUSTIN, Texas – Supporting travel agencies worldwide connected to its computer reservation systems is no easy task. Galileo, a global travel distribution services leader, will use Tivoli SecureWay software (an IBM company) to control access to business-critical system resources from a single console, in accordance with the company’s corporate security policy.

Tivoli SecureWay software helps protect against unauthorized entry into business resources, helping to prevent possible system downtime that could result if there were a security breach. Tivoli SecureWay also helps Galileo ensure that the rights and privileges of users are easily maintained in a diverse business environment.

“System availability is a top priority for Galileo. Avoiding possible security breaches helps us give our customers the 99.9 percent availability and high level of service they have come to expect from Galileo,” said Galileo’s James R. Lamb, director of Tax and Corporate Assurance. “After evaluating various enterprise-wide security software, we chose Tivoli SecureWay because it best suited our needs to manage an integrated security suite from a centralized console.”

“As more data flows through enterprise networks, companies like Galileo will see an increased need to secure its systems from potential threat, both internal and external,” said Carl Kessler, senior vice president, Enterprise Management Solutions, Tivoli Systems Inc. “Tivoli is proud to support Galileo’s business initiatives by increasing security in its business infrastructure.”

Tivoli SecureWay Security Manager and Tivoli SecureWay User Administration will manage security on over 150 servers in Galileo’s Data Center located in Denver.

Tivoli SecureWay software provides traditional enterprises, emerging e-businesses and Internet generation companies with secure e-business infrastructure tools for authentication, authorization, administration, access management, risk management and privacy management.
