Creative new Honda ad brought to you by the letter ‘R’

As hinted at by the ad‘s opening “credits,” simply pressing the letter “R” on your keyboard will provide an alternate scene, and a far more sinister one. While one side takes place during the day, the other half takes place at night, as the driver helps a few associates get away after a break-in.

The three-minute video presents a slew of twists and turns (even in the family-friendly side) right up to the final moments. It’s a video that almost demands to be watched multiple times to fully appreciate.

In the end, of course, this is an ad for the 2015 Honda Civic Type R, which Jalopnik says will be the “most extreme Honda ever made.”

The car will feature 280 turbocharged horsepower, a maximum of 7,000 RPM and a whole lot of torque. Honda Claims that the turbo on this car exceeds every Type R car ever made. The Type R will also feature a six-speed manual transmission, which was reportedly designed to make it a “complete driver’s car.”

The “R” will play a role in the car was well, with an “R” button located on the steering wheel. The button will change steering response, torque mapping and four-point adaptive dampers

The car is expected to be released around mid-year 2015, and will likely retail for around $50,000 USD.
