BMW CEO collapses at auto show

After collpasing on stage on Tuesday, Krueger had to be helped off stage. It wasn’t immediately clear what the reason was for the fall, but it occurred as he was talking about the automaker’s new lineup.

Krueger was talking and then he stumbled and fell. When he was helped off stage, he was conscious and the company’s chief financial officer spoke with reporters instead of Krueger.

Maximillian Schoeberl, a spokesman for BMW, said that Krueger, 49, was travelling quite a bit and leading up to the presentation, he wasn’t really feeling well. However, Krueger decided to go ahead with the presentation.

Schoeberl said that Krueger was taken to the doctor after the incident. The doctor recommended that Krueger cancel his other appointments that he had for the day and go home and rest.

Krueger’s condition wasn’t worrisome and doctors ruled out anything serious. The CEO is fine and he is recuperating.

The incident was caught on video, and after the CEO collapsed, someone grabbed the mic and said they were at loss for words and that he hoped that it was nothing serious. He added that they would try to reschedule the news conference for later on in the day.
