At least four killed in bus crash in Seattle

A tour vehicle and a charter bus collided in Seattle, resulting in numerous injuries and several deaths.

So far, at least four people have died and several more have been critically injured, raising the potential that the death toll could rise. Two smaller automobiles were also involved in the accident, which occurred at 11 a.m. local time.

It appears the Ride the Ducks tour bus crashed into the side of a bus. Most of those who were injured were on the charter bus, which was transporting international university students from North Seattle College, a two-year university in the Licton Springs neighborhood of Seattle.

Conflicting reports indicate that between eight and 12 people are critically injured. Approximately 50 people were treated at the scene of the accident.

A witness claims the duck boat signaled to move left, but apparently a front wheel came off, causing it to spin out of control. The duck boat then hit a SUV and collided with the bus, which was heading in the opposite direction down the road.

The tour bus involved in the accident appears to have been a “Ride the Ducks” amphibious vehicles. These tour buses are able to both drive on land and travel through the water. The tour buses are found in several other cities and are popular among tourists.
