According to a January 2026 report on artificial intelligence adoption, Brazil is the most AI-addicted country in the world. This is the outcome of an assessment by the cybersecurity company Check Point examined 20 nations to see where AI usage is growing fastest and what people’s attitudes are towards these automation tools.

The approach was based on an assessment of traffic growth for major AI platforms, including ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude. The data also drew on Microsoft data showing how many working-age adults use AI at least 90 minutes monthly, indicating regular use rather than occasional tries.

Additionally, the study considered Anthropic’s economic index (which measures whether people delegate entire tasks to AI or work alongside it) and Ipsos surveys capturing public attitudes. Countries received scores based on all these factors, with higher numbers indicating stronger AI reliance.

Brazil

Some facts about Brazil’s AI focus include:

  • ChatGPT traffic growth: 1,406% year-over-year
  • People using AI 90+ minutes monthly: 15.6% of the working-age population
  • Knowledge workers using generative AI: 83%
  • Tasks fully automated by AI: 64%

Brazil is seemingly the world’s most AI-addicted country. ChatGPT traffic grew by over 1,400% in the past year, showing how quickly Brazilians have embraced AI for work and personal tasks. As a result, more than 8 in 10 professionals now work with generative models regularly, one of the highest rates globally. Locals here also tend to use these tools to the full extent, as nearly two-thirds of the studied requests ask AI to handle entire tasks independently rather than just assist with the work.

Singapore

Singapore comes second in AI reliance. More than half the working-age population here dedicates at least 90 minutes monthly to AI tools, far above any other country studied. 88% of Singaporean knowledge workers are also using generative AI at work, the highest professional adoption rate in the world. Given the rising interest, ChatGPT traffic grew 10 times year-over-year in the country, and two-thirds of residents now believe AI helps them work faster.

Argentina

Argentina takes third place among the most AI-dependent countries. ChatGPT traffic here jumped 882% over the past year, while Gemini saw 83% growth. With this, four in five skilled professionals in Argentina have now adopted generative AI tools in their professional routines. Overall, nearly 6 in 10 Argentinians say AI improves their ability to get things done quickly, and another 50% trust its responses entirely.

Colombia

Colombia ranks fourth with some of the most positive attitudes towards AI. Two-thirds of Colombians believe AI helps them complete tasks faster, while 65% think they’re having more fun with these tools. About 1 in 5 working-age adults also uses AI tools for an extended period monthly, and over 80% of professionals rely on LLMs at work. With public attitudes so open to AI usage, ChatGPT traffic in Colombia increased 892% year-over-year, with Gemini also recording 80% growth.

Mexico

Mexico ranks fifth, with widespread AI adoption across both work and personal life. ChatGPT traffic grew 882% over the past year here, matching Argentina’s growth rate, while Gemini increased by 65% and Claude climbed 28%. Beyond public use, about 82% of knowledge workers in Mexico also integrated generative language models into their jobs, and half of the requests sent to AI tools seek fully automated solutions. Confidence in AI is relatively high as well, with more than 50% of Mexicans saying they trust AI technology.

Whichever country, AI usage is likely only to accelerate. Within a few years, a significant portion of online searches will happen through AI chatbots rather than traditional search engines like Google.
