Adobe Might Not Support Intel Macs Until 2007

Digital Journal — Adobe has announced it has no plans to re-release current applications to run natively on both Intel- and PowerPC-based system. Instead, the company says it will focus on the Intel Macs for future versions.

In a recent statement, Adobe said: “This applies to Adobe Creative Suite 2, Studio 8, as well as individual applications, such as Photoshop CS2, InDesign CS2, Acrobat 7.0 Professional, Dreamweaver 8, Flash Professional 8, and After Effects 7.0. Instead, we are focused on delivering the next versions of these products as universal applications that will run natively on the new Intel-based Mac computers.”

That means CS2, with its widely used PhotoShop, will not run natively on Intel-based machines until a future release of Creative Suite. While Adobe will not officially comment on when the software will be re-released, it says its track-record is usually every 18-24 months.
