Watch Cam Newton show us why he’s the most exciting NFL QB

The video, uploaded late Monday night, records the third-quarter highlight of the night. Carolina QB Newton is faced with a third-and-seven challenge, and when he steps back to throw the ball, a Patriots defender is soon barreling toward him.

Newton is almost sacked, but he jumps out of the clutches of the Pats player, and when another tries to tackle him, Newton quickly jukes away from him.

A third Pats defender tries to sack him behind the line of scrimmage, but Newton again dekes out grasping arms. He then cuts into the middle of the field, picks up 13 yards on his way for another highlight reel play.

At one point, Newton was scrambling 17 yards behind where the ball was snapped. If the Pats players sacked him then, New England would have enjoyed fantastic field position after the ensuing punt.

Broadcaster and former coach Jon Gruden exclaims in the video: “That might be the greatest play Cam Newton make in a long time.”

Running for huge yards is just another day at work for Newton. The Panthers’ 7-3 record is partially thanks to Newton’s legs: He’s ran for 266 yards, notching four TDs merely with his run game. He’s also thrown 13 TD passes.

On Monday night, Newton rushed for 63 yards and completed 19-of-28 passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns in Carolina’s 24-20 win over the Pats.
