Throughout his career in wrestling, Schultz was a three-time NCAA champion, as well as three-time world and Olympic champion. His brother, Dave, was murdered by eccentric millionaire John du Pont, and their life story was made into the Oscar-nominated film, Foxcatcher.
This new documentary chronicles Schultz’s return to wrestling in upstate New York with teaching a clinic, as well as watching a screening of the feature film Foxcatcher; moreover, it shows him partaking in some outdoor activities such as shooting target practice.
It shows him being greeted at Colonie High School’s Gymnasium with a warm, standing ovation. “It was just great to feel the love. I was almost crying,” Schultz said in the trailer, and noted that he would love to be more involved in the sport. “It was almost like I never left,” he added.
Schultz subsequently defined it as “the greatest character-building sport there is,” and rightfully so. He underscored the importance of wrestling in the film and in his best-selling book, the latter of which was dubbed as the best sports autobiography in 2014 by Digital Journal.
