The 2025 Millrose Games were held at The Armory in New York on February 8th, for a good turnout. This journalist was present at the venue and covered the track and field event as media.
This event was the sixth leg of the 2025 World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold series, which is the highest-level international indoor track and field circuit. Ray Flynn served as the Meet Director of the Millrose Games.
This marked the 117th annual Millrose Games, which are the world’s premier indoor track and field event.
60 meter hurdles races
Masai Russell won the won’s 60 meter hurdles race with a world-leading mark of 7.76 seconds. (At the Paris Olympic Games, Russell took home the gold for Team USA in the 100 meter hurdles race).
Last year’s Millrose Games Champion and world record holder Devynne Charlton finished in third place with a season best of 7.83 seconds.
In the men’s 60 meter hurdles race, Dylan Beard won with a time of 7.38 seconds, which is yet another world-leading mark, as well as a personal best and meeting record (MR).
60 meter sprint races
In the men’s 60 meter race, Marcellus Moore won with a time of 6.56 seconds; moreover, in the women’s 60 meter sprint race, Jacious Sears won with a time of 7.02 seconds, a world-leading mark.
Women’s pole vault
In the women’s pole vault, two-time Olympic medalist Katie Moon set a new world-leading mark with a clearance of 4.82 meters.
World records broken at this meet
At the 2025 Millrose Games, two world records were broken. Grant Fisher set a new world record in the men’s 3000 meter race with a time of 7:22.91.
Yared Nuguse also reigned supreme in the men’s Wanamaker Mile with a new world record time of 3:46.63.
