Review: Renaud Lavillenie gets hitched, marries Anais Poumarat

A 32-year-old athlete, Lavillenie married his longtime partner Anais Poumarat, after being together for 11 years. Their young daughter, Iris, just celebrated her first birthday this past July.

Their wedding ceremony took place at the Clermont-Ferrand Town Hall in France. His wife, Anais, is also a pole vaulter, and his younger brother, pole vaulter Valentin Lavillenie, was a part of his wedding team.

This year, Lavillenie was the World Indoor Champion in the men’s pole vault in Birmingham, and at the 2018 European Championships in Berlin, Germany, he claimed the bronze medal. He also won two Diamond League meetings in Shanghai, and Lausanne respectively. Last year, Lavillenie took home the bronze at the outdoor World Championships in London.
