Review: Mondo Duplantis advances to final at 2018 European Championships (Includes first-hand account)

Mondo Duplantis was able to clear 5.61 meters, which was enough to advance him to the final, which will take place on Sunday, August 12, which is the last day of the European Championships. As Digital Journal reported, 18-year-old Swedish pole vaulter Duplantis is the “One to Watch” in the men’s pole vault at the 2018 European Championships.

Joining Duplantis in the men’s pole vault final include such European pole vaulters as world record holder Renaud Lavillenie (France), Piotr Lisek (Poland), Axel Chapelle (France), Pawel Wojciechowski (Poland), Adam Hague (Great Britain), Timur Morgunov (Russia).

Last month, Duplantis won the World Junior Championships, with a championship record of 5.82 meters. He also holds the world junior record in the pole vault (outdoors) with 5.93 meters.
