Review: Cali Condors win Day 2 of Match 4, Caeleb Dressel is named MVP (Includes first-hand account)

Two-time Olympic gold medalist and world champion swimmer Caeleb Dressel, who serves as co-captain of the Cali Condors, was named MVP, securing 75 points.

Hali Flickinger won the women’s 200 meter butterfly for the Cali Condors with a time of 2:04.34, while Eddie Wang won the same event for the men, clocking 1:51.32.

Co-captain Olivia Smoliga was the queen of the backstroke events, thus winning the women’s 100 meter backstroke with a time of 56.23 seconds, and she won the women’s 50 meter backstroke skins beating Beata Nelson in an all-Cali Condors final.

Melanie Margalis triumphed in the women’s 100 meter individual medley (IM) with 57.94 seconds, and Caeleb Dressel was victorious in the men’s 100 meter individual medley (IM) with 51.27 seconds.

Allison Schmitt reigned supreme in the women’s 200 meter freestyle with 1:54.41, and Townley Haas was equally superb in the men’s 200 meter freestyle race with 1:42.57.

Lilly King of the Cali Condors continued her winning streak, this time in the women’s 100 meter breaststroke race with a time of 1:03.61. In the men’s 50 meter breaststroke skins, Turkish swimmer Emre Sakci of Team Iron bested Caeleb Dressel.

After the second day of ISL Match 4, the Cali Condors lead with 610.5 points, followed by Team Iron in second place with 418.5 points. The New York Breakers ranked third with 394 points and DC Trident finished in fourth place with 287 points.
