Brazilian swimmer Nicholas Santos of Team Iron was superb in ISL Match 3. Digital Journal has the recap.

Santos finished in fifth place in the men’s 100 meter butterfly race and first place in the men’s 50 meter butterfly race. (Santos holds the world record in the 50 meter butterfly event in short course with a time of 21.75 seconds).

Dorina Szekeres serves as the General Manager of Team Iron with Luka Gabrilo as Head Coach.

Butterfly skins

Santos subsequently competed in the 50 meter butterfly skins races where he won the first round with a time of 22.16 seconds (earning 10 points for his team), and the second round with a time of 23.38 seconds (earning 14 points for his team). In the final round of the skins, Santos finished in second place behind fellow Brazilian Vini Lanza (who competed for London Roar), so Santos was able to earn an additional seven points for Team Iron.

In a post on social media, Santos remarked that the skins were “super cool.” “Great practice for the races to come,” he exclaimed. “Let’s go Team Iron,” Santos added.

In the MVP standings for ISL Season 3 Match 3, Santos ranked in 12th place earning 33.5 points for Team Iron. Even at 41 years old, Santos proves that he is an inspiration to all, and that age is just a number.
