Popular betting site Oddsshark.com posted the odds for Pacquiao-Horn fight on its site along with the odds for some of the fighters in the supporting bouts as follows:
Manny Pacquiao vs. Jeff Horn (-1000 +650)
Jerwin Ancajas vs. Teiru Kinoshita (-1,667 +700)
Shane Mosley Jr. vs. David Toussaint (-147 +110)
Jonel Dapidran vs. Brent Dames (147-110)
There has been a negligible change in the betting odds since Pacquiao and Horn started their training which was placed then at 7-1 despite Horn’s claim that he can do better than what Juan Manuel Marquez did to Pacquiao in 2012.
In December 2012, with less than a second left in the sixth round, Marquez knocked out Pacquiao with a big right to the jaw as he fell to the canvas unconscious for a KO win.
“The Marquez knockout is probably our main point. Marquez fought Pacquiao brilliantly, and the best whoever fought Pacquiao,” said Horn, who had carefully studied Marquez’s timing and execution.
“He’s someone that we have looked up a lot.” Horn said “That Marquez (punch) is certainly what we’re looking for,” he added.
Despite Horn’s adequate preparation and carefully crafted strategy to beat Pacquiao as he and trainer Glenn Rushton have put together and anchored on Marquez’s fight plan, the prevailing odds failed to improve as the fight draws near.
In response to Horn’s plan to snatch his WBO Welterweight title using the Marquez strategy, Pacquiao said he is ready and prepared to deal with whatever Horn will bring to the table on fight night.
Meanwhile, both fighters have made it to the scales in a weigh-in a day before the fight. Pacquiao tipped the scale at 146 while Horn made it to the weight limit of 147 pounds.
