Op-Ed: Inika McPherson is the ‘One to Watch’ in 2020 in the high jump

This past July, as Digital Journal reported, McPherson won the silver medal in the women’s high jump competition at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, Iowa. She was able to clear 1.94 meters on her first attempt, and that was enough to secure her the silver medal. She has been in beast mode ever since.

She went on to compete at the 2019 World Championships in Doha, Qatar, but failed to make it to the final.

At the 2020 USA Track and Field Indoor Championships, which took place in Albuquerque, New Mexico, McPherson finished in fourth place.

McPherson is eyeing to make it to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Her goal is to someday break the American record in the women’s high jump. She is also an X2 Pro Team Ambassador.
