The Schultz brothers were the only pair of brothers in history to win the World championships and the Olympic Games in wrestling; moreover, they have won more titles and honors in wrestling than any other brother pair in American history.
Schultz was born in 1960, and has gone on to become a living legend in the sport of wrestling. He has been inducted into three different Hall of Fames in his career, including the California Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2000, the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame in 2010, as well as the prestigious National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1995.
On November 18, 2014, Schultz released his emotional memoir, Foxcatcher: The True Story of My Brother’s Murder, John du Pont’s Madness, and the Quest for Olympic Gold.
The film Foxcatcher was based on Schultz and his life. It stars actors Channing Tatum (as Mark Schultz), Steve Carell as John du Pont, and Mark Ruffalo as his brother, Dave Schultz, was released on November 14, 2014, in the United States. Foxcatcher is nominated for five Academy Awards, including “Best Actor in Leading Role” for Carell, and “Best Actor in a Supporting Role” for Ruffalo.
Aside from being an Olympic and world champion, Schultz is a life coach and motivational speaker.
