Olympic gold medalist swimmer Caeleb Dressel has a major reason to celebrate. He scored multiple 2021 Golden Goggle nominations. Digital Journal has the scoop.
The 18th annual Golden Goggle Awards, presented by USA Swimming, will take place on Tuesday, December 7, at the Faena Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida.
Caeleb Dressel is up for the coveted 2021 “Male Athlete of the Year” Golden Goggle Award, an honor he won in 2019.
Two of Dressel’s races at the Tokyo Summer Olympic Games are nominated for “Male Race of the Year,” and these include the 100 meter freestyle race and the men’s 100 meter butterfly race (where he shattered a new world record of 49.45 seconds).
In addition, two of the relay races that Dressel was a part of, the men’s 4 x 100 meter freestyle relay and the men’s 4 x 100 meter medley relay (where Team USA broke the world record), are up for “Relay Performance of the Year.”
Dressel’s longtime coach, Gregg Troy, has also been nominated for “Coach of the Year.”
In International Swimming League (ISL) Season 3, Dressel serves as the co-captain of the Cali Condors, with Jason Lezak as his team’s General Manager. The Cali Condors were the winners of ISL Season 2.
