NFL Trade Rumors: Kirk Cousins to Denver Broncos?

One team that has had success just about every decade is Denver and with one of the best defense in football, adding the right leader on offense could bring another title to the Mile High city.

Reports from Kevin Patra have Cousins wanting to play for a team that actually wants him long-term, not just on another one-year deal, which would happen again in 2017 if the Washington Redskins use the franchise tag on their signal caller.

John Buhler of Fan Sided has another take on the situation and its one several NFL sources believe cold happen before this weekend is finished, a deal that would send the former Michigan State product to a new team and the Broncos top the list of franchises that could use an upgrade under center.

After winning a title in Peyton Manning’s last season of football, expectations where high for a repeat performance in Denver, but despite good play from the teams two youngsters, neither could move the football on a regular basis and that put too much pressure on the rest of the team.

The 28-year-old has the experience to help the situation and with over 9.000 passing yards and 54 touchdowns over the last two years, Cousins would be a great fit, especially with a pair of experienced receivers looking for that leader to get them the ball in the right situations.

There will be plenty of rumors swirling around this week and with the front office of the Redskins failing to deliver a long-term deal with Cousins, it could mean a trade is coming. If this does happen, Denver has the draft picks, money under the salary cap, and some young talent they can use to make this deal happen and this would be a great move for a franchise looking to win another Lombardi Trophy.
