NFL Trade Rumors: Chase Daniel to Denver Broncos?

Carson Wentz was the first round pick of Philly in April, but coaches quickly made it clear the youngster would probably not play in 2016, instead learning the game and how to become a professional sitting behind two veterans and with Sam Bradford being traded to Minnesota, it appeared Daniel would start and Wentz would be backup.

Now reports from several sources have stated the first round pick will start the year on Sunday against Cleveland and remain in that role for the season. That hasn’t sat well with the team and especially the 29-year-old who believed he would get an honest shot at the role.

Social media has exploded over the situation, as fans and experts are not happy with the team and the way they have handled the situation. For the fans, they feel this is now a lost season, especially considering the youngster hardly played during the preseason due to an injury. The fact he will learn from being thrown into the fire isn’t necessarily good for a team that needs to build some confidence.

Since these reports have surfaced, trade rumors have made headlines as Daniel would like to play elsewhere. It might be difficult to find another NFL team willing to take on a $21 million contract for a backup, but Sportsrageous believes Denver could be a franchise willing to make that move.

The Broncos have a definite need to bring a veteran on board. Not only as insurance in case of injuries, but also for the two young men to learn from and get advice on issues both on and off the playing field.

It will be interesting to see what happens with this situation, but for the best interest of the Philadelphia Eagles and their veteran quarterback, a change is probably best. A move to Denver would at least give the former New Orleans Saints backup a fresh start with a team he could trust.
