NFL Rumors: Marshawn Lynch to Dallas Cowboys?

Several reports have the veteran back ready to retire, but that could cost the 29-year-old millions. A more likely scenario is he will get released or traded before the Draft in April and rumors have already started on where “Beast Mode” could play next season.

John Zawiski has suggested a move to the Dallas Cowboys could prove fruitful for the former first round pick. Despite having an injury-plagued 2015 season, he did rush for over 1,300 yards just two seasons ago.

Dallas struggled to fill the hole left when DeMarco Murray took his services to Philadelphia. Joseph Randle started the year, but was later released for off-field issues. Darren McFadden did a decent job after taking over the starting duties, rushing for over 1,000 yards, but a lack of depth at the position and injuries to Tony Romo and Dez Bryant made it a long year for “America’s Team” and changes need to be made this off season if this franchise wants to return to the NFL Playoffs.

Owner Jerry Jones and his staff do have other options. Several mock drafts have the ‘Boys taking a running back in the Draft. Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry and Arkansas youngster Alex Collins have both been linked with the team as they search for help.

Another option is adding both a veteran and rookie, a move that would take some pressure off the young player added to the roster, but also give Henry or whoever the Cowboys add, a veteran that could help for a year, giving the team a bit more leadership and experience as they look to transition into the Dallas franchise of 2017 and beyond.
