Oakland Raiders Rumors: DeMarco Murray top free agent target

DeMarco Murray is coming off his best season since entering the league as a third round pick back in 2011, but with the Dallas Cowboys problems with the salary cap, chances are the former Oklahoma Sooner will play elsewhere next season.

Murray is coming off a monster season, rushing for over 1,800 yards and adding another 416 yards through the air. He also has over 100 receptions and nearly 3,000 yards on the ground for the past two years. His 4.8 yards per carry for his career and 29 touchdowns are definite upgrades and just the type of player this organization needs to get back as a force in the AFC West.

Rookie quarterback Derek Carr was hit and miss this past season, but showed enough to believe with some help, he could become a capable leader. Murray would add a weapon that could help on the ground and through the air, giving the team a chance to add more help through the draft in April.

McKenzie had plenty of money to spend last off season, but made the choice to add several good players, missing out on the leagues top talent, but after learning from mistakes, look for the Oakland Raiders to open the check book over the next few months.

If the 26-year-old is forced to leave Dallas, several NFL teams will have interest, including Jacksonville which also has millions in cap space. Jaguars fans and the team would love to add a talent like Murray and that could lead to a bidding war between two struggling teams, making the All Pro running back in a great position, no matter what team is able to sign him for the next few years.
