NFL: Detroit Lions’ Ndamukong Suh ejected for stomping player

The popular defensive end didn’t play for the rest of the Thanksgiving game. At the end of a red-zone play, Suh scuffled with center Erik Dietrich-Smith and began grinding his head into the ground. He stood up and then stomped a foot on Dietrich-Smith’s arm.

The referees immediately threw their flags and called an unsportmanlike penalty on Suh. The All Pro defensive tackle was ejected from the game. It’s unclear if he’ll face any further consequences.

Video of the Suh incident has been uploaded to YouTube:

The Packers won the game 27-15.

Suh’s ejection followed a first half riddled with penalties. The Lions committed eight penalties while the Packers were penalized four times. The Packers lost cornerback Pat Lee after he was ejected towards the end of the first half following a fight at the end of a Packers punt.

The NFL is planning to pack Thanksgiving Thursday with other key match-ups. Following Packers-Lions, Miami will take on Dallas, and the 8:20 p.m. ET sees the first “Harbaugh brothers” game as San Francisco squares off against Baltimore.
