NBA Trade Rumors: Pau Gasol to NY Knicks?

Rumors have started on potential moves New York could make before the trade deadline and the biggest name on that list is veteran center Pau Gasol of the Bulls.

Chicago is having an identity crisis this season with players really not sure of what role they play in the future of the franchise. This has led to speculation that more than one of their star players could get traded in the coming weeks, including the 35-year-old big man.

This move would reunite the veteran with Knicks head coach Derek Fisher and Phil Jackson, but in a much different role. This squad is lacking depth in the front court, especially down low and adding an experienced center/power forward could be the move this franchise needs to make the playoffs and give the fans some hope about the future.

The Bulls are reportedly looking to make some changes of their own. It appears the organization wants to rebuild the foundation of the team with some younger talent. With Jimmy Butler now the leader of this squad, the front office is going to look at some younger, more athletic talent to play alongside the shooting guard and hopefully make a quick transition for the fans.

New York is looking to give star forward Carmelo Anthony one last shot at winning an NBA title. If this rumor is correct, Gasol would make an instant impact with his knowledge of the triangle offense and his experience on and off the basketball court.

With the trade deadline just a few weeks off, social media is starting to buzz with potential moves, but this is one that could take place and change the landscape of the Eastern Conference, not only for the rest of this season, but in the case of Chicago, for the next few years.
