NBA Rumors: Toronto Raptors still looking for help in the paint?

Despite having a better record then last year and just a couple games back of Cleveland for the best record in the Eastern Conference, it’s no secret this franchise needs help in the front court if they want to become a legitimate contender for a title.

The Raptors are playing some terrific basketball over the last few weeks, but they still struggle against some of the bigger teams in the league and come playoff time, they don’t want a repeat of losing in the first round like last year against Washington.

Several rumors have surfaced in recent days, including the latest of a potential trade for Markieff Morris. Not only does the power forward have the size this squad needs, he is also terrific on the offensive end of the court and could make this team much tougher to defend, which could make it tough for Cleveland and then other NBA teams around the league to concentrate their efforts on Toronto’s back court.

Morris averaged over 15 points, 6 rebounds, and a block shot during the 2014-15 season with the Suns and many expected his game would reach another level this season, but things changed quickly over last summer.

The former first round pick wasn’t happy this past off season after his brother was traded by Phoenix, a move that led many to believe the 26-year-old would also be dealt. His unhappiness has led to a less than stellar year for the Suns big man with his scoring average dropping to just 11 points per game, but a trade to the Raptors could bring that form back and make this one of the most dangerous teams over the rest of the year.
