Boston Celtics Rumors: Joakim Noah top trade target?

It appears the front office is looking to add some younger talent, moves that would help keep this team relevant for the next few years, but also help rid the team of some salary and give them more flexibility over the summer when some big name free agents hit the open market.

With the Bulls making these players available, rumors are flying around social media on possible destinations and the latest from Fan Sided has suggested the veteran center could get moved to Boston.

The Celtics are looking to make some moves as general manager Danny Ainge has expressed an interest in trading away some draft picks. The team could have seven selections next June and moving a few of these selections for a veteran is likely.

Noah has struggled with his new role, playing just 22 minutes on average each game, but despite his limited time on the court, he is still averaging nearly nine rebounds per night. His best asset and one the Celtics could use is his presence on the defensive end of the court.

The former first round pick still averages over one block per game and is known for his tenacity when covering an opposing player, but he can still help on offense, despite his scoring average. The 30-year-old is one of the better passing big men in the game and his experience is something Boston lacks in the front court.

Dallas, Washington, and Indiana are other NBA teams linked in trade rumors for Noah, but Boston has the resources to make this trade and the need, making them the front-runner if a deal is made in the coming weeks.
