There has been plenty of speculation on potential trades involving this squad and general manager Danny Ainge has done little to quiet any trade talk.
The latest rumors involve Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins and Chris Forsberg went to Twitter to discuss the best options for the youngster. The consensus on that topic has most experts agreeing that the 25-year-old would best fit in Bean Town as the Celtics have at least three first round draft picks in 2016 and enough young talent in the back court to make a serious offer.
As the fifth overall pick back in 2010, the former Kentucky Wildcats star has progressed nicely and is having the best year of his young career, averaging 26 points and 10 rebounds, despite having issues with head coach George Karl. Those troubles have led to talks about a possible trade and with the Kings once again struggling to win basketball games, rumors will heat up as the season moves along.
Cousins has averaged over 19 points and 10 boards in his career, much better numbers than Boston is currently getting from the center position, and his dominating presence in the paint is just what this franchise needs to win championships.
Over the last year it seems most NBA teams have been linked in some way in possibly acquiring the big man, but the Celtics are one of the few teams that actually have the resources to make a deal happen. This trade would make them one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference and give the Kings the draft picks and possibly player they need to rebuild in the right manner and finally get their franchise on the right track.
