Michael Andrew receives two 2018 Golden Goggle nominations

Andrew has been nominated for “Breakout Performer of the Year,” along with Zach Harting, Austin Katz and Andrew Seliskar; moreover, Andrew scored a nomination for “Male Race of the Year” for his 50 meter freestyle race at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships, where he won the gold medal, and simultaneously set a new personal best of 21.46 seconds.

The Golden Goggle Awards are presented by the USA Swimming Foundation. They are a sports awards ceremony that honors athletic achievements in swimming (male, female, breakout, coach, perseverance and relay races) over the past year.

This weekend (September 28 to 30), Andrew is competing at the FINA World Cup in The Netherlands, in the city of Eindhoven.

On September 13 to 15, as Digital Journal reported, Andrew competed at the 2018 FINA World Cup in Doha, Qatar, where he took home gold and silver medals. Prior to that, earlier in the month of September, Andrew won big at the FINA World Cup in Kazan.
