Miami Dolphins Rumors: Mark Ingram top free agent target?

Several football experts have reported that Mike Wallace could have played his last game in South Beach. The speedy wide receiver hasn’t lived up to the big money contract he signed when coming over from Pittsburgh and replacing the 28-year-old with a younger player in the draft is possible.

Wallace did score 15 touchdowns in his two years with the Dolphins, but his yards per catch and reception totals aren’t at the level the team expected when the added him to the roster. With a good group of wide receivers available in this years draft class, the offense could look much different for the start of the 2015 season.

Another rumors hitting the Internet is at running back. Knowshon Moreno was good when healthy, but like his early days in Denver, missing games isn’t unusual for the 27-year-old. With several backs available through free agency this off-season, finding a replacement at a lower cost would help the team find help at other areas of need.

The latest from Sports World Report has suggested that Mark Ingram could be a possibility. The former Heisman Trophy winner had a solid season with New Orleans, but the Saints are hurting with cap space and his departure is likely.

The 25-year-old had his best NFL season in 2014, rushing for nearly 1,000 yards and scoring nine touchdowns. With a 4.2 yards per carry average for his four years in the league and his age, Miami could have their back of the future and a player that already has a proven track record.

Miami is hopefully that with some good additions over the next few months, making a run at the playoffs next season is possible, but adding weapons for QB Ryan Tannehill is imperative and signing Ingram would be a good start.
