When Frattin chipped the puck to himself with three seconds remaining in overtime, the Sabres knew they were in trouble. Frattin raced towards the goalie and wristed a shot over Miller, giving the Leafs the 4-3 win over Buffalo.
Video of the last-minute heroics is available on the Maple Leafs website.
It was Frattin’s second goal of the game; he scored at 3:40 in the second.
The overtime win snaps Toronto’s two-game losing streak, and they next face the Capitals on Thursday night.
Twenty-four-year-old Frattin, born in Edmonton, Alberta, was selected by the Maple Leafs in the 4th round (99th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Last year he spent half the season with the affiliate Toronto Marlies, but in July the Leafs inked Frattin to a two-year contract.
