Australian swimmer Kyle Chalmers has a major reason to be proud. He shattered the Australian Record on October 22 at the FINA World Cup in Doha, Qatar. Digital Journal has the recap.
Chalmers swam the 100 meter freestyle event with a time of 45.03 seconds, which is the third-fastest time in history right behind Vladimir Morozov (44.95 seconds) and French swimmer Amaury Leveaux’s world record of 44.94 seconds.
He was able to take away more than half a second from his previous personal best of 45.54 seconds that he set back in 2018 at the World Cup in Singapore.
“Threw down some heat tonight in the 100 free, 3rd fastest time ever, Australian/Commonwealth record and only 0.09 seconds off breaking the World Record! Thank you all for the support, let’s try to go faster next week in Kazan,” Chalmers posted on Instagram.
In other Kyle Chalmers news, he recently partnered with Wahl Professional Australia and its “Waterproof Stainless Steel Trimmer.”
