Youth sports play a big part in the development of young people, as they offer benefits beyond physical health. In 2022, 54% of youth aged six to 17 participated in organized sports, showing the importance of these activities in building skills like teamwork, discipline, and resilience.

In motorsports, the trend of young athletes entering the field early is clear. Since 2017, the average age of full-time drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series has been below 32 years, with at least half of the drivers under 30 since 2019. This shows the importance of activities like this in building teamwork, discipline, and re

Cash and Roman Felber, 14-year-old identical twin racers from Cleveland, exemplify this trend. Their passion for racing began at age eight, driving Segway Karts in their driveway. After attending the Austin Grand Prix in 2022, they set their sights on professional racing. In 2023, they debuted in the Formula 4 U.S. Development Series at the Circuit of The Americas, with Cash securing two first-place finishes and Roman achieving two second-place finishes.

Training is critical to their development. Under FLBR Motorsport, the twins undergo an intense physical and mental regimen. Their training includes strength workouts, core exercises, and specialized neck conditioning to withstand G-forces. They also engage in reaction drills and mental preparation techniques to enhance their focus and reflexes.

In addition to physical training, they dedicate significant time to racing simulators, which play a key role in honing their skills. The simulator allows them to practice race scenarios, analyze telemetry data, and refine their techniques before heading to the track. The twins also study footage of past races to identify areas for improvement.

Beyond preparation, their competitive nature drives their progress. Roman notes, “We are very competitive on the track, even in the simulator, but I also want him to be fast as well, so if one of us is faster than the other, we look at data to see where one can improve and work to help each other.” Cash adds, “Other drivers I want to beat on track, but if I’m going to work with a driver, I would work with my brother to help him.”

The upcoming 2025 season in the US Formula 4 JSF4 series offers new challenges and opportunities. They aim to build on their progress and position themselves as top contenders in the highly competitive motorsport landscape.
