Gilas Pilipinas trashes Singapore 113-66

Gilas cruised to 11-0 lead in the opening quarter with three of their tallest players that include Andray Blatche, June Mar Fajardo and Japeth Aguilar together less that three minutes in the first quarter which ended with Gilas taking the lead at 31-9.

The national dribblers is coming off an impressive win over the Myanmar national team in the opening games Friday in a lopsided match that ended with Gilas scoring 147-40.

The winner for the week-long tournament will represent SEABA in the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup which will take place in Lebanon from August 10 to August 20, 2017.

South East Asian countries participating the the 2017 SEABA Games include Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

The Philippine team is composed to selected top players in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) which include Calvin Abueva, Japeth Aguilar, Raymond Almazan, Andray Blatche, June Mar Fajardo, Allein Maliksi, Jovani Jalalon, Roger Pogoy, Terence Romeo, Troy Rosario, Jason Castro and Matthew Wright. In the second day of the tournament, Thailand trounced Vietnam 76-49 while Indonesia defeated Malaysia 63-42.

In yesterday’s game, the Philippine team broke the 100 points lead over Myanmar with less than three minutes left in the fourth and final quarter. Read more
